TORMENTED by heartbreaking family problems, Demi Moore went on a spiritual pilgrimage to India – and she’s “adopted” a personal guru to help her finally find happiness.
The “Ghost” beauty recently attended the Mind and Life conference in McLeod Ganj, India, with spiritual adviser and yoga teacher Hargopal Kaur Khalsa, who has become the star’s “go-to guru” in times of trouble, a source says.
“Demi credits Hargopal with saving her life,” declared an insider. Early last year, following the demise of her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, 51-year-old Demi was admitted to Cirque Lodge rehab treatment center in Utah for anorexia and an addiction to prescription pills.
Now, our source says the three-times wed- actress worries that another emotional collapse could put her right back on the path to ruin.
“Demi is very troubled right now, and her close friend and spiritual adviser Hargopal has become a fixture in her life,” revealed the insider. “It’s almost as if Demi has adopted her.”
Even though almost two years have passed since Demi’s marriage to Ashton collapsed following his blatant cheating, “she is still having a very difficult time with the split, especially now that the finalization of their divorce is only days away,” said the insider. To make matters worse, the “Striptease” star still has strained relationships with her three daughters – Rumer, 25, Scout, 22, and Tallulah, 19.
“She’s trying to surround herself with an ironclad support system,” noted the insider. “And the strongest figure Demi has in her support team right now is Hargopal.” The actress – who adheres to the guru’s rigorous system of yoga, meditation and spiritual healing – was pictured with the Los Angeles-based healer on Nov. 3 when they returned to L.A. from their five-day pilgrimage to India.
“Demi is looking great these days,” said the insider. “And she owes it all to Hargopal!”
