R KELLY: FOR THE DEFENSE

description

The defense in the R. Kelly child porno trial in Chicago began as a reporter who leaked the tape to authorities refused to identify his source in court.

Chicago Sun-Times reporter Jim DeRogatis cited Illinois laws governing reporters’ rights and also invoked the First and Fifth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

Then, three members of the alleged victim’s family agreed she is not on the sex tape with R. Kelly

Shonna Edwards told the court, "It definitely wasn’t her."

Nor was Kelly the man on the tape.

During cross-examination, prosecutors showed two photos to Edwards on a split screen – one of the female in the tape and one of the alleged victim.

Edwards was then questioned: are they the same person?

Without hesitation, she testified "Not at all."
