Today show star Matt Lauer seems to be pursuing a new playboy lifestyle since he was dumped three months ago by his wife Annette Roque.
The 47-year-old father of two, who had a reputation as a ladies' man before his marriage, is apparently not letting any grass grow under his feet.
A pal revealed: "Matt is back on the prowl. He's been showing up in the Hamptons solo, going to private parties where there's lots of gorgeous girls. His wandering eye has returned. It's just his nature and his ego craves it. And at his age, guys need to know that they are still as sexy as they were at 30."
Lauer reportedly visited the swanky men's clothing store Richards in Greenwich, Conn., on July 20 to buy new clothes.
Said the pal: "Matt is getting a new wardrobe for what appears to be his new single life."
The National Enquirer has also learned that the morning show host, who was married for almost seven years, has moved into a pricey new apartment near Today's Rockefeller Center studios in Manhattan.
Revealed an insider: "Matt is living the bachelor life. He has moved into a real bachelor pad. And it's near some of the top singles spots in the city like the Monkey Bar. He's not going to suffer during this break-up, it appears."
Lauer's NBC spokeswoman Lauren Kapp said he won't comment on his personal life and won't acknowledge a split. However, The National Enquirer reported May 2 that he was secretly shopping for his own New York City apartment after his marriage to his stunning 39-year-old model wife came to an end.
The pal was quick to add that Matt is working overtime to be a good father to his two kids, Jack, four, and Romy, one.
