Pint-size pop star Prince needs a double-hip replacement and could end up singing in a wheelchair!

Hobbling and in desperate need of an operation, the music legend refuses to go under the knife. Now the “Purple Rain” superstar, famed for his onstage shows, may be crippled for life.

“Prince has suffered for years,” a source told The National ENQUIRER. “It’s harder for him to get around.”

In 2005, the 5-foot-3 singer, now 57, was told only a full hip replacement would alleviate his pain and ensure mobility.

According to reports, Prince believes years of strutting onstage took a terrible toll on his joints.

“He used to wear high-heeled boots every day and doctors told him that may have contributed to his condition,” a source said.

But Prince, a Jehovah’s Witness, is reluctant to undergo surgery because the religion does not allow blood transfusions.

Dr. Stuart Fischer, who has not treated the singer, said Prince likely suffers from severe osteoarthritis.

“If he ignores the doctor’s advice, his walking will become impaired,” Dr. Fischer said. “He’ll need a cane or a wheelchair for the rest of his life.”
