Movie tough guy Sonny Landham, 67, who’s brawled with an alien Predator (and lost), roughed up Sly Stallone and went toe to toe with Eddie Murphy, is running for US Senator.
He calls his opponent Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, "Boss Hogg" after the corrupt politico from The Dukes of Hazzard TV show.
Landham who’s running on the Libertarian ticket must collect 5,000 signatures on a petition by August 12th. State Libertarian Party Chairman Ken Moellman is convinced Landham will make the deadline.
But the former Billy Bear from 48 Hours does have some past to address – he began his acting career in ‘adult’ movies.
"I’m not sure which is more of a hurdle for Landham, being a former porn actor or being a Libertarian Party candidate," Moellman admitted.
So far the film, Predator has already spawned two governors – Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger so why not a freewheeling Native American Libertarian movie tough guy and reformed porno star as Senator from Kentucky?
After all, this is America – home of the brave and the truly bizarre.
