PEPPERY SHERRIFF SLAMS DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER: “PROFIT-DRIVEN PEACOCKERY”

Pepper spray from DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER arrest ignites conflagration of controversy!

Reality star Duane "Dog" Chapman" brought a wanted man into the Mesa County Sheriff's Office in Colorado but when Dog,  his camera crew and the suspect were brought in, there was a fight.

“During the scuffle the skip (fugitive) was pepper-sprayed excessively and Dog conveniently had his tear-away shirt ripped off, all the time the action cameras were rolling and everyone was salivating in the drama at 215 Rice Street," Sheriff Stan Hilkey blogged on the Sheriff's Office official website.

"While Dog stayed outside, shirtless and sweaty, prancing back and forth waving his golden locks for the camera, his team brought this freshly pepper-sprayed fellow into the enclosed space of the Sheriff’s Office lobby with other citizens present," wrote Hilkey.

"They also brought him in injured."

Video shot from inside the Sheriff's Office shows the suspect coughing repeatedly along with everyone near him.

The Sherriff’s Office initially refused to take the fugitive.

Sherriff Hilkey made Chapman's crew decontaminate the suspect, treat him for pepper spray inhalation, and then the Sherriff’s office accepted the suspect.

While Sherriff enjoys Chapman’s theatrics, he says he’d rather deal with day-to-day working professional bail bondsmen and bounty hunters who bring in their prey sans cameras AND without manufactured drama.

"For me, it was an interesting contrast in watching 30-year humble professionals versus genuine profit-driven peacockery," Hilkey told The DenverChannel.com.

Dog later told local press, "To me, it was one of the best shows we ever shot."
