PATRICK’s SECRET SORROW

description

As his life ebbed away, Patrick Swayze confessed his biggest heartbreak: The tragic loss of the baby that he and his wife Lisa Niemi had yearned for.

A miscarriage suffered by Lisa crushed them both, and in the most touching passage in his just-released memoir, The Time of My Life, Swayze revealed that not having children was his biggest regret.

The beloved actor met Lisa when she was still in high school, and she co-wrote the memoir with him before he lost his 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer at age 57 on Sept. 14.

In the book, Swayze revealed they’d been married 15 years when Lisa, an actress and dancer, got pregnant.

Three months into the pregnancy, an ultrasound revealed the baby had died.

Both were stunned with grief, and neither could talk about their loss without weeping.

Devastated, they put off trying to have a child. They eventually decided to start a family, but Lisa was never able to get pregnant again.
