Patrick Swayze‘s new series for A&E, The Beast, has been greenlit to begin shooting later this summer. The ailing star toplines as FBI agent, Charles Barker.
Swayze, 55, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May is reportedly responding well to treatment.
The series production was uncertain after Swayze announced he had cancer.
Bob DiBitetto, executive VP and general manager of A&E Network said in a statement, "We’re very excited to begin series production on The Beast and even more thrilled to have Patrick on board."
Swayze plays a vet agent who’s assigned a new partner who’s secretly a double agent.
The Beast will be unleashed early next year
