PRINCE HARRY’s royal hijinks may soon be coming to an end – he’s getting engaged!
The redheaded wild child of Princess Diana has finally been tamed by 24-year-old blonde beauty Cressida Bonas.
Reports say Harry, who turned 29 last month, will likely walk down the aisle next year – and the royal family couldn’t be more thrilled. While “Cressie” is considered to be a “free spirit” like Harry, a source says the family believes Harry will leave his hard-partying lifestyle behind him once he takes a bride.
The handsome prince has already showed signs of slowing down, such as how he’s warmed to his new role as “uncle” to George, the heir to the throne born to Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton on July 22.
While it does not appear to be an official engagement at this point, a royal insider says that Harry and Cressie talked marriage while watching a fireworks display during a recent trip to Australia.
“Cressie is the girl who has finally tamed the prince,” the insider declared. “He’s head over heels in love with her, and despite her bohemian lifestyle, she really is mature enough to keep Harry grounded. She’ll make a delightful wife for Harry and will be a great mom when they decide to have kids.”
For some time, it looked like a long-term royal romance might not be in the cards for the couple. The bubbly blonde, a dancer who trained at London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire, was devastated when Harry was photographed playing strip pool with a Vegas party girl in August 2012.
But the prince wasn’t ready to let Cressie go. He kept in close touch with her after he was dispatched on a four-month military service trip to Afghanistan last November. When he returned, their romance blossomed. And that’s when, according to friends, Harry started to talk about marriage.
The rebel prince has caused quite a bit of controversy over the years. He was caught smoking marijuana and took part in more than his fair share of underage drinking. He was also photographed wearing a Nazi uniform with a swastika armband at a party in 2005. But insiders say he’s promised Cressida he’ll stay out of trouble. Although Harry has been linked to a bevy of blondes, his only other serious relationship has been with Zimbabwe-born Chelsy Davy. They split up for good in 2011 after a seven-year on-again/off-again romance.
While Cressie isn’t wearing a ring yet, the insider maintains that she’ll be sporting a beautiful bauble before long.
“Harry is ready to settle down,” the insider added. “He’s ready to be a good husband and father.”
