PARIS HILTON CHARGED WITH COKE POSSESSION

PARIS HILTON has been charged with felony cocaine possession following her weekend Vegas drug bust. The drug charge carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison if convicted.

Police arrested Paris in Sin City late Friday night after an officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle she was riding in. The arrest report says Paris was taken into the nearby Wynn Las Vegas hotel. As she went to take lip balm from her purse, the arresting officer says he saw "a small bindle" of what he believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy fall from the purse and into his hand.

The police report says Paris had .8 grams of cocaine, Zig Zag cigarette wrappers commonly used for marijuana and a broken tablet of the asthma drug Albuterol in her bag.

Paris said that the purse was not hers and that "she had borrowed it from a friend." When the officer asked the socialite whose cocaine it was "she said she had not seen it but now thought it was gum." Paris told the officer the $1,300 cash and credit card were hers, but “several cosmetic items in the purse were not hers.”

Paris' boyfriend, Cy Waits, was also arrested in the traffic stop. According to reports, Cy has since been fired from his job as head of nightclub operations Wynn and Encore hotel properties.
