CHRISTINA AGUILERA has packed on 25 pounds, and pals claim it’s because her boyfriend Matt Rutler is a chubby chaser.
What’s more, he’s urging the “Voice” judge to eat whatever she wants!
“Matt tells Christina he loves big, beautiful gals and has no interest in rail-thin hotties,” a close pal told The ENQUIRER.
When the 5-foot-2 Grammy winner recently got blasted for bloating up to 130 pounds, “Matt told Xtina, ‘It’s just more of you to love, baby,’” the source said.
And the “Genie In a Bottle” singer, 31, told a reporter: “I have a boyfriend that loves my body, (and) I love my body.”
But Christina shocked onlookers when she appeared puffy and disheveled while running errands on July 24 in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
“Christina was virtually unrecognizable,” said one observer. “She had no makeup on and looked as if she was wearing clothes from the night before!
“Friends are worried that she’s fallen back on her old ways – eating, drinking and letting herself go – and they blame Matt.”
Christina began dating Matt, a 27-year-old former set assistant, in 2010 after the breakup of her five-year marriage to Jordan Bratman, a music executive.
In March 2011 she was busted for public drunkenness in West Hollywood when she was riding in a car driven by Matt, who was arrested for DUI. Shortly before that, she flubbed the words to the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, and four weeks later she slipped onstage during a Grammy tribute to Aretha Franklin, prompting whispers she was drunk.
“Christina started slimming down after that,” said a source. “But now she and Matt have been gorging on fattening foods and they’re known for guzzling booze. Her weight is in free fall, but packing on pounds is no problem because Matt wants her on the hefty side.”
