Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have made peace following a rift that friends said threatened to wreck their close-knit relationship.
The sisters reunited in Los Angeles to enjoy the last of their summer vacation together after smoothing over the differences that resulted in them living apart for the first time.
They drifted apart after they both found love — Ashley with actor Jared Leto and Mary-Kate with Stavros Niarchos III.
But even though they moved to separate apartments while studying in New York, the multimillionaire teenagers are now said to have made up. The twins spent their 19th birthdays together in Los Angeles on June 13 but immediately afterward, Mary-Kate returned to New York without Ashley to continue celebrating with friends. Mary- Kate then headed to Hawaii with Stavros, her boyfriend of four months.
Ashley has spent her summer closer to home hanging out with friends and jetting back and forth between Los Angeles and New York. She broke up with boyfriend Scott Sartiano in June after they dated for nine months, and then took up with Jared Leto in May — but their fling was over in a few weeks.
On Saturday, Aug. 13, Mary-Kate and Ashley attended a barbecue at a friend’s house in Los Angeles. The day after their first sighting together in months, the twins were again spotted walking along the street and chatting.
The twins are about to start their second year at New York University.
