CHAD “Ochocinco” JOHNSON destroyed his football career and may have ended both his marriage AND his reality TV future after head-butting his wife during a recent argument over his cheating.

Now, the flamboyant NFL wide receiver – who changed his name from “Ochocinco” back to “Johnson” soon after marrying Latina bombshell Evelyn Lozada on July 4 – is desperately trying to patch up his romance after a brawl at their Florida home that landed her in the hospital and him in jail.

“I’m outta HERE!” Evelyn raged to friends after the Aug. 11 incident, according to a source. “I’m sick of his cheating and crazy behavior.

“He’ll never hit me again!”

Evelyn claims that the former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant head-butted her when she questioned him about a receipt for a box of condoms that she found in his car. He claims she head-butted HIM.

Evelyn suffered a three-inch gash to her forehead, and Chad was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. He was cut from the Miami Dolphins’ roster the following day.

Evelyn, who stars in VH1’s “Basketball Wives” (she was previously engaged to former NBA player Antoine Walker), moved out of the couple’s Davie, Fla., home and is reportedly hiding out with friends.

The incident has also prompted VH1 to pull the plug on their new reality show, “Ev and Ocho,” which was scheduled to premiere on Sept. 3. VH1 execs say in a news release that they have “no current plans” to air it.

“Chad is upset about losing the show but, more importantly, he’s trying not to lose Ev, too,” the source maintained. “He’s been reaching out to her through friends, telling her how sorry he is and promising her that he will change.

“Right now, everything is hang-ing on whether he can sweet-talk Evelyn into taking him back.”
