IT was trouble in paradise for PRESIDENT OBAMA when he was blasted by his wife for golfing with an old pal who’d been busted in a prostitution sting last year.
Obama hit the links with Oahu businessman Bobby Titcomb during the first family’s annual holiday vacation in Hawaii – and Michelle let him have it because she thinks it will cost him support in the 2012 election, a source told The ENQUIRER.
“Of all the golfing partners you could find, you had to ask him!” the first lady raged, according to the source. “This is going to cost you votes!”
Last April, Titcomb,a high school pal of the president, was one of four men arrested in an undercover Honolulu prostitution bust. He was released on $500 bail. In May, his lawyer, who appeared in court without Titcomb, entered a no contest plea for his client.
A judge ruled that charges against Titcomb would be dismissed in six months if he had no further run-ins with the law. He kept his nose clean and in October paid a $500 fine and donated money to a criminal-injury compensation fund.
“The president has been pals with Bobby since they attended the Punahou School together,” explained another insider. “Bobby has hosted parties for the first family, but this year Michelle didn’t want Barack hanging out with him because of the bust.
“She told Barack he would look bad if he socialized with him, but Barack ignored her and it left Michelle furious.”
The president joined Michelle and their daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10, in Hawaii on the lavish vacation before Christmas – a holiday that watchdogs say will cost taxpayers $4 million.
Within a day of his arrival, Obama, Titcomb and a few other pals were seen golfing at a course on a military base. And a few days later, the president again invited Titcomb to golf, this time at the exclusive Ko’olau Golf Club in Oahu, where the group played from noon until 6:30 p.m.
The president was in hot water with his wife long before leaving Washington – and his golf outings only made things worse.
