Despite taking a plunge in the oil spill waters of the Gulf last week, Obama dare not dive into the once pristine waters of Massachusetts.
Portions of Tisbury Great Pond, the lagoon fronting the first family’s vacation estate, were closed earlier this week due to high levels of enterococci, a key indicator the water is contaminated with fecal coliform bacteria.
West Tisbury health official John Powers wouldn’t comment on whether the water was vacationing Obama-safe.
"It’s not my job to recommend or not recommend whether or not to go in the water. I just get the numbers and take the appropriate action."
Another town official, preferred anonymity when he told The Boston Herald, "Depends on whether or not he likes to swim in poop."
