Glee star Matthew Morrison’s career is on fire, but he has burned his love life to the ground!
The 31-year-old actor – who plays adorable glee club director Will Schuester on the breakout FOX series – was dumped by his fiancee, All My Children star Chrishell Stause, after she says she found out Matthew had cheated before their wedding!
“This should be the happiest time in Matt’s life, but he’s miserable because he’s still in love with Chrishell, and she hates him,” a close pal told The ENQUIRER.
“He broke her heart when he had an affair before they were supposed to get married. She found out and called the whole thing off.”
Matthew and Chrishell, 28, had dated for a couple of years and planned a splashy wedding in late 2007 – but then Chrishell learned about the other woman.
“She was completely floored – it broke her heart in a million pieces,” the source said.
“Chrishell thought this was the guy she was going to spend the rest of her life with.
“She’s over him now and refuses to watch his TV series, but every time she sees Matt’s face plastered on billboards, she’s reminded of that horrible time in her life.”
While Matthew has dated other women since the split, “he says he was a fool for letting Chrishell get away,” says the source. “When Matt gets melancholy, he says he still regrets what happened. But their friends feel he did her a huge favor – a canceled wedding is better than a marriage to a man who cheats.”
Chrishell wrote on her Web site: “This is obviously a serious matter, but laughter makes it easier. Besides, it’s not Matthew’s fault that he thought MONOGAMY was a type of tree!”
