NO BEATLES DOWNLOADS – EVER!

description

The Beatles remain the world’s only major musical act not to be available via download and it looks like it’s going to stay that way!

Despite suggestions from George Harrison‘s son Dhani – who fronts new band  the newno2 –  that the Beatles heirs might create their own website and downloading service, bypassing iTunes, and their ilk – no deals seem to be forthcoming.

Another Beatles deal was rumored to be brokered through EMI Music and their DL service but all that Twitter-ing is nothing but Tweets in the wind especially since EMI is in turmoil.

EMI’s head of Digital was recently canned after being wooed over from Google and he’s being replaced by a cat who heads Second Life – a virtual world community where everyone in the media world is repped by a cartoon avatar for all your IM and skin needs.

While the only way to listen to John, Paul, George and Ringo is a) buy a CD or b)listen on the radio, the Fab Four may be repped in cartoon avatar form soon along with other EMI music greats like Nat King Cole The Beach Boys and Frank Sinatra.

Just don’t expect the virtual Beatles icons to sing.
