NIGHT STALKER COLD CASE

description

New forensics evidence links convicted Night Stalker serial killer to 1984 murder of a 9 year old child.

Cops went to San Quentin where Richard Ramirez, 49, the convicted Night Stalker, is being held to extract DNA evidence which confirmed his link to the death of Mei Leung.

The nine-year-old was sexually assaulted and killed in a San Francisco hotel where she lived with her family.  The horrendous murder occurred in the basement.

Ramirez had been holing up in two hotels close to the crime scene.

The cold case investigation into Mei’s murder was conducted by Inspector Holly Pera who was rookie in 1984.

"It’s the type of case as a new officer, a case involving a little girl, that you don’t forget," Inspector Pera said.

Lab techs extracted DNA samples from items extracted from the crime scene 25 years ago and an exhaustive Mosaic-like database cross-referenced the evidence.

Inspector Pera and her colleagues will now present the new findings to the DA to see if charges should be filed.

Ramirez’s killing spree generated terror across California in the mid 1980s as the Night Stalker silently entered homes through unlocked windows and doors.

Many victims were strangled or had their throats slashed by the psychopath. Satanic symbols and pentagrams were also found at some of the murder scenes.
