NEW DETAILS JOHN EDWARDS CONTRIBUTOR MYSTERY DEATH

description

New details have emerged in the mysterious death of top John Edwards contributor John O’ Quinn.

Last week the ENQUIRER exclusively reported that O’Quinn, a wealthy Texas lawyer and close friend of alleged Edwards’ hush money mastermind the late Fred Baron  was being considered to testify before the grand jury investigating possible misuse of John Edwards’ presidential campaign funds when he died suddenly.

Yet "there’s no indication that Mr. O’Quinn did anything wrong" a federal source told The ENQUIRER.

O’Quinn died in a one-car accident October 29th in Houston which is still under police investigation.

Here’s the kicker:  O’ Quinn,  who was instrumental in pioneering verdicts against breast implants manufacturers, hazardous drugs and tobacco products and repped Anna Nicole Smith’s mother,  was one of the biggest collectors of vintage cars in the world.

O’Quinn’s collection was valued at over $100 million and  included at least 618 cars!

Among the lawyer’s four-wheel gems a 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo with 33 celebrity autographs ($500,000); JFK‘s 1962 Lincoln Continental Bubble Top limo (pictured above),  the Batmobile used in the film Batman Forever ($335,000), a 1941 Packard limo used by FDR, a 1938 Town Car used by Pope Pius XII ($250,000) and the ultimate show-piece a 1975 Ford Escort owned by priest Karol Wojtyla before he became Pope John Paul II.

In 2002 O’Quinn discovered several of his cars were missing.  Zev Isgur, a 32-year-old ex-con whom the legal ace had entrusted with managing his stable of collectibles was later convicted of embezzlement.

UPDATE: According to Houston Press, O’Quinn may have been speeding on a rain-slicked 40 MPH road, not wearing his seat belt and possibly texting when the deadly accident occurred. Toxicology results still pending.
