Horror strikes the set of popular TV show NCIS as a runaway van strikes and kills a worker.
CBS has halted production on the hit series after a security guard was struck to death on the LA County set after the driver blacked out at the wheel of the vehicle.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Konecny says the van had just dropped off passengers Wednesday in Valencia when suddenly the driver suffered an unspecified medical condition.
Lurching forward, the driver’s foot slammed the pedal. The van accelerated sharply, striking the guard.
The victim, who was not immediately identified pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced DOA at a hospital.
CBS later said production on the show has been suspended while investigators determine what caused the accident on the set of the TV show about Naval criminal investigators.
