Under fire NASCAR driver CLINT BOWYER buoyed by buddy BLAKE SHELTON.

Blake Shelton zoomed to the defense of buddy Clint Bowyer after the popular NASCAR driver was disciplined for possibly cheating to help a teammate.

When Bowyer spun out during a race in Richmond, Va., on Sept. 7, it allowed his Michael Waltrip Racing teammate Martin Truex Jr. to win a spot in the upcoming Chase for the Sprint Cup.

But after a review, NASCAR officials decided the Waltrip team manipulated the race’s outcome.

Truex lost his playoff spot, Bowyer’s Sprint Cup total was docked 50 points and the team was fined $300,000.

Despite the controversy, “The Voice” coach Shelton – who’s headlined a concert for Bowyer’s charity, the 79 Fund – stayed true to his pal.

“I am so proud of my boy Clint Bowyer,” Shelton wrote on his Twitter account, adding that detractors who called Bowyer out for cheating “can suck it.”

And Clint returned the favor in a tongue-in-cheek tweet addressed to “all media members” and showing a photo of Blake: “I’ll be turning all questions for today over to my new publicist.”
