As the nation mourns the passing of beloved former First Lady Nancy Reagan, President Barack Obama is skipping her funeral to go hang out at a festival all about music, film and technology.
Obama will be visiting Austin, Tex., on Friday while Nancy is buried next to her beloved husband at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Library in California.
First lady Michelle Obama will be attending the funeral instead — before she also heads off to the annual South By Southwest Festival to join her husband for more partying.

Ex-President George W. Bush attended the 2011 funeral of former First Lady Betty Ford — while Obama and former President Bill Clinton didn’t make an appearance.
Hillary Clinton, currently in a heated presidential campaign within her own political party, will be attending Friday’s funeral.
Other events at SXSW on Friday include panels on “How Fashion Is Making Tech Wearable” and “Will ‘No-Tipping’ Save the Restaurant Industry?”
