MORGAN FREEMAN SERIOUS AFTER CAR CRASH

The Dark Knight star, Oscar winner Morgan Freeman is recovering from his car accident in Mississippi!

Freeman remains in serious condition with a broken arm and elbow.

Freeman, 71, was driving east on Highway 23 when a 1997 Nissan Maxima left the road and flipped several times around 11:30 P.M. Sunday night just north of Ruleville. 

Passenger Demaris Meyer of Memphis, who's Nissan Freeman was driving, was also injured. 

According to Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Ben Williams both were wearing seat belts but the car's airbags did not deploy.

Freeman and Meyer were extracted from the crash using the Jaws of Life and then airlifted  to a hospital in Regional Medical Center in Memphis. 

His condition is believed to be serious.  Reportedly, state troopers say Freeman was able to speak. 

Freeman was most recently on Broadway performing in The Country Girl revival and also appeared in the Jolie actioner Wanted.
