The Monkees vocalist Micky Dolenz‘s wife arrested for fraud!
Donna Quinter, 54, was arrested by NYPD on charges of defrauding an affordable housing program.
Authorities allege the Monkees’ missus illegally received $136,866 in government rental subsidies for an apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
The subsidies are supposed to go to middle-income families living in Manhattan being forced out of neighborhoods by encroaching gentrification.
Cops say Quinter neglected to mention she was sharing the apartment with a friend who actually paid the rent because since 2002 when she married Dolenz, the ex-flight attendant, has been living in posh Bell Canyon, a gated community outside Los Angeles.
Quinter surrendered today to authorities in larceny charges in a Manhattan court.
"Law abiding New Yorkers struggling to pay their rents and mortgages cannot afford to subsidize cheaters who abuse public housing resources to support privileged lifestyles," the department’s commissioner, Rose Gill Hearn, said.
Hubby Micky Dolenz isn’t accused of any wrong doing.
