MONKEE PETER TORK CANCER

description

Pop icon Peter Tork of 1960s super-group The Monkees diagnosed with rare cancer!

Peter, 67,  will be going under the knife today in Manhattan in an attempt to halt the spread of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma.

The cancer is rare and was detected on the lower part of Tork’s tongue.

Tork’s prognosis is promising as docs say a biopsy reveal the cancer has not spread.

Peter will undergo radiation therapy following the op.

"Barring any complications, I fully expect to honor a performance date I have this June," Tork states. "I’m looking forward to that and all our tour dates."

Get well soon, Pete!

POP FYI: Peter’s chart buster lead vocal for The Monkees was "Your Auntie Grizelda"  The TV Fab Four’s hit "I’m a Believer" was written by future star Neil Diamond and sung by Mickey Dolenz.
