A canceled concert has left MIRANDA LAMBERT in the midst of a medical crisis!
“She’s petrified that this could spell the end of her performing career!” an insider said.
The 31-year-old blonde beauty was forced to abruptly call off her July 9 show in Calgary, Canada, due to a serious inflammation of her vocal cords.
“Miranda was heartbroken over having to cancel,” a source told The National ENQUIRER. “She had throat pain for weeks and had suffered from laryngitis.
“She thought it was just garden-variety fatigue from constant touring – but after doctors examined her, they warned Miranda that she needed to immediately rest her voice or risk serious complications!”
Miranda has kept a grueling pace for nearly a decade. She’s toured every year since 2006, and “drives herself to the point of exhaustion,” said the source.
The ENQUIRER has also revealed how Miranda’s skyrocketing music career has been troubled by weight issues and problems in her marriage to country singing superstar husband Blake Shelton, 39. The couple announced their split on July 20 after four years of marriage.
“She’s ambitious, but her work’s also been a means of escape from problems with Blake,” claimed the insider. “Miranda wouldn’t know what to do with herself if she had to quit touring!”
The singer’s Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars tour was scheduled to resume in late July after a break of several weeks.
“But Miranda isn’t out of the woods yet,” the pal told The ENQUIRER. “If the swelling doesn’t go down, doctors may have to take more drastic measures – including surgery!
“She’s a wreck physically and emotionally. Miranda’s worst fear is that the problem will persist, or get worse and possibly be the nail in her career’s coffin!”
