Michael Strahan Living Large!

MAKE room for daddy! Family-minded Michael Strahan and his fiancée Nicole Murphy flipped two pricey Los Angeles properties so they can move into a mega-mansion large enough to hold their kids when they get married – all nine of them.

The 42-year-old co-host of “Live with Kelly & Michael” and his 46-year-old fiancee ditched their old homes and forked out $16 million for a 15,000-square-foot superhome featuring nine bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

The extra space will accommodate Michael and the four children he has with two ex-wives; and Nicole’s five children with her ex, Eddie Murphy. The extended families often spend time together.

“Michael and Nicole got engaged in 2009 and immediately starting making plans to blend their families,” revealed an insider.

Shortly after announcing their engagement, Michael and Nicole bought a 10,000-square-foot home in Brentwood for $5 million.

And then a few months later months later, they also purchased a $7.9 million Bel-Air home they planned to tear down and rebuild.

But soon they realized they would need a REALLY huge place because those two homes got too crowded when all the kids were there at once. So in early 2012 they sold both the Bel-Air and Brentwood homes.

To complicate matters even  more, Michael also landed his “Live” TV position in 2012 and he realized he’d also need a home near the show in New York City. He was eyeing a $20 million Manhattan penthouse.

Nicole, who is executive producer of VH1’s reality show “Hollywood Exes,” will spend half her time in Los Angeles and the other half in New York with Michael, said the source.

“They’re looking forward to a beautiful wedding later this year.”
