Michael Douglas To Wife Catherine Zeta-Jones: “Move To Bermuda Or We’re Through!”

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Marriage Problems

MICHAEL DOUGLAS has hit wife CATHERINE ZETA-JONES with an ultimatum – move to Bermuda or we’re through!

“Michael thinks that a return to the home where they raised their kids will do wonders for their troubled marriage,” a close friend of the couple exclusively told The National ENQUIRER.

The rocky union has taken a huge toll on 70-year-old cancer survivor Michael, and sources said he’s determined to find peace in his declining days.

As The ENQUIRER exclusively revealed in March 2013, the couple – who wed in 2000 despite a 25-year age difference – had secretly split in a “trial separation” amid fears they were headed for a $300 million divorce.

Five months later, their reps confirmed the breakup. The two Oscar winners later reconciled for the sake of their children – Dylan, now 14, and Carys, 12. The actor is also dad to son Cameron, 36.

Now Michael believes returning to the Bermuda home where the family lived from 2001 to 2009 would boost both his health and marriage, according to sources.

“They’ve had huge family parties there, especially around Christmas when Cathy’s entire Welsh family came for a visit in 2001,” added the insider.

“Michael’s mom is from Bermuda, and he has a big circle of relatives there. It’s a very special place for him.”

But friends said Michael faces an uphill battle with Catherine, who struggles with bipolar II disorder.

“Cathy doesn’t want to go back because her Colombian drug lord movie, ‘The Godmother,’ is in pre-production,” said another insider.

“She thinks that sinking her teeth into a solid movie project will be better for her than chilling out in Bermuda.”

But another source said: “Michael’s worried that Cathy throwing herself into a movie is just a temporary distraction, and won’t solve their problems. He’s desperate to get her to Bermuda.”
