MICHAEL DOUGLAS: “LUCKY TO BE ALIVE”

A year after actor Michael Douglas linked throat cancer to oral sex, the Oscar winner and his actress wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, have spoken out about the devastating effect of his cancer diagnosis.

In 2010, the “Wall Street” star claimed he’d been diagnosed with stage-four throat cancer. But in 2013, he admitted that he’d actually battled tongue cancer.

Michael, 69, also raised eyebrows last year when he told “The Guardian” newspaper in England that his cancer was the result of an HPV infection that he got “from cunnilingus.”

The actor is now cancer-free, and at a medical conference in New York in late July, he said: “In every sense of the word, I’m very fortunate to be here today.”

Meanwhile, his wife confessed that the cancer diagnosis left her devastated.

“I’ll be quite frank, I was a mess,” said the “Chicago” beauty.

“For the first time he was fighting for his life."
