Michael Douglas Freaks Out Over Cancer Death Of His Mom

The death of his mother has left actor MICHAEL DOUGLAS haunted by fears of his own cancer returning!

Michael’s friends are worried, too, with the “Wall Street” star already overwhelmed by a marriage torn apart by wife Catherine Zeta-Jones’ struggle with mental illness – plus a son behind bars!

Diana Douglas’ death from cancer at the age of 92 has Michael “in a tailspin,” a close friend told The National ENQUIRER.

“There’s obviously a genetic chink in the family armor when it comes to cancer, and his mom’s death only makes that clearer!”

The 70-year-old star is in remission after his battle with Stage 4 tongue cancer in 2010.

The ordeal of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatment aged him 20 years, and caused him to lose over 30 pounds.

Said the insider: “This has all been hell for Michael. Catherine’s condition causes wild mood swings, and his oldest son, Cameron, has nearly two years left in his sentence for dealing drugs!”

Catherine, 45, left Michael to attend a hotel opening in England on July 6 – just three days after the death of his mother.

“This stress is just the kind of thing Michael doesn’t need,” the pal said. “He has to maintain his health and immune system – and not relapse into another cancer nightmare!”
