MATT DAMON comes clean about THOSE gay rumors.

Ever since Damon and BFF Ben Affleck starred in “Good Will Hunting” way back in 1997 the rumors about his sexuality have swirled saying that he’s a closted gay.

In an interview with Playboy, Matt, 42, reveals: “I never denied those rumors because I was offended and didn’t want to offend my friends who were gay – as if being gay were some kind of f**king disease.

“It put me in a weird position in that sense. The whole thing was just gross.”

Matt just wrapped the HBO movie Behind the Candelabra, which explores Liberace’s life with his young lover Scott Thorson played Damon.

Michael Douglas plays the flamboyant showman pianist and the two thesps have been busing lip locking for the cameras, RadarOnline.com noted.

Damon revealed, “We both have a lot of gay friends and we were not going to screw this up or bullsh*t it.

“It wasn’t the most natural thing in the world to do, though. Like, for one scene, I had to come out of a pool, go over to Michael, straddle him on a chaise longue and start kissing him.

“And throughout the script, it’s not like I kiss him just once. We drew it up like a football plan.”

Matt – who has three daughters and a stepdaughter with wife Luciana Barroso – dished about Douglas’ smooches.

“Michael was a wonderful kisser.”
