Stan Lee to produce new gay super-hero show for Showtime.
The Marvel Comics maven and co-creator of such heroes as Spider-Man, Iron-Man, The Hulk and Thor is developing an hour long series for the cable net which examines the trials and tribulations of being a gay super-hero.
The series is based on the book Hero by Perry Moore who is also writing the script.
Stan "The Man" Lee, ever the huckster, heralded the novel as "totally original, can’t-put-it-down page turner."
Lee who ankled Marvel ages ago still serves as its good-will ambassador and gets exec cred on their flicks.
He usually cameos as a postman or an unwary super-soldier juice drinker in a Marvel film despite having produced the lamest show ever – Who Wants to be a Super Hero?.
