“All My Children” star Mark LaMura took a shocking secret to the grave — he hated the soaps!

The Daytime Emmy-nominated actor, who also appeared on ABC’s “One Life to Live” and CBS’ “As the World Turns,” confessed he only took the roles for the money!

The graduate of the American Academy of of Dramatic Arts was best known for “All My Children, where he played Susan Lucci’s brother, Mark Dalton, from 1977 to 1989 — with occasional guest turns afterwards.

Mark died from lung cancer on Sept. 11, 2017, at the age of 68 — finally freed from the work that he despised.

“Mark hid his frustration for years,” said a soap insider. “When he finally couldn’t stand it, he quit.”
