MARIE OSMOND wants to beef up her resume – with a judge’s gig on “Dancing with the Stars”!

Sources say the 54-year-old entertainer decided to tango her way onto the “Dancing” panel after learning judge Len Goodman is reportedly set to leave.

“Marie is desperately looking for a high-profile gig to keep her career going,” a source told The ENQUIRER.

“‘Dancing’ ranks among TV’s top five shows, and Marie thinks her sassiness would bring it a breath of fresh air.”

Goodman, who turned 70 on April 25, has served as a “Dancing” judge with Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli since the ABC show’s debut in 2005.

Marie appeared as a contestant on “Dancing” in 2007, placing third. But she’s better known for fainting after a performance, and jokingly called the show, “Dancing with the Starved.”

“That kind of talk hasn’t won Marie any brownie points with producers,” a source told The ENQUIRER. “But Len grew very fond of Marie when she competed and would endorse her to replace him.”

STILL, Marie may have her work cut out for her because Carrie Ann doesn’t appear to be in her corner.

“She thinks Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who’s been a pro dancer on the show for years, or even a dancing celebrity like Paula Abdul might be a better fit,” said the source.

Meanwhile, sources say Marie is struggling career-wise. Her talk show got dumped by the Hallmark Channel, and although Reelz Channel picked it up, it’s not currently on the air. And she considers her show with brother Donny at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas to be an oldies act.

“Marie feels that she still has a lot to offer,” said the source. “And ‘Dancing’ could elevate her star once again.”
