MARIA SHRIVER has landed a new job with “NBC News,” and now pals are trying to fix her up with a new man!

The 57-year-old Kennedy cousin, whose divorce from ex-California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is nearly final, is also considering plastic surgery to freshen her look, a source says.

“Friends have been offering to find a new guy for Maria for a while now, but she’s been resistant,” revealed a friend.

“BEING a devout Catholic, Maria felt that dating before wrapping up her divorce would be wrong in the eyes of God.

“But she’s so excited over her new TV gig that she’s considering all sorts of things she never even dreamed about in the past!”

Maria co-anchored NBC’s “Weekend Today” from 1987 to 1990 and had a long-running gig on “Dateline” that she quit after Arnold decided to run for governor.

While she no longer had a regu­lar network TV presence, Maria continued to work tirelessly as a political wife, author, mother and crusader for women’s rights.

Now with her divorce nearly final, friends and family have been urg­ing the hard-driving mother of four to go under the knife in a bid to find Mr. Right, as The ENQUIRER has reported.

And since NBC’s announce­ment that Maria will be a “special anchor” and editor-at-large for women’s issues, she’s seriously considering it, sources say.

“Maria has been through a lot, and it’s really taken a toll on her,” said a close source.

“She’s devel­oped terrible wrinkles and bags under her eyes from the stress, not to mention sleepless nights.

“But with her new TV job, she’s thinking about freshening up her face before going back on the air.

“And with the financial details of her divorce finally being worked out, Maria’s also willing to go out on lunch or dinner dates.”
