Law enforcement investigates strange death of man who opened a clearly marked container saying PANDORA’s BOX and then died.

UPI reported that  British authorities are unable to solve the mystery of a 37-year-old man who collapsed after opening a box that had “Pandora’s Box” written on it in red letters and then  died.

Jason Airey’s parents found him unconscious in one of the bedrooms at their Carlisle home in May 2013.

Airey never revived, dying two days later at the hospital in Cumberland.

Although the eerie box found beside him contained synthetic cannabis, it was unused and an autopsy found no drugs in his system.

The coroner concluded Airey’s heart had suddenly stopped beating, causing his organs not to function.

Coroner Robert Chapman said, “We don’t really know what caused his heart to stop. There is a possibility that he had a fatal cardiac arrhythmia — a change in his heartbeat.”

In classical Greek mythology, Pandora, the first woman, was expressly forbidden to open a box lest she loose all evil on the world.

She didn’t resist the temptation.

Neither did the late Mr. Airey.
