UPDATE: After a meeting with Bill Clinton, North Korea leader Kim Jong II today pardoned two American journalists—Euna Lee and Laura Ling—who were being held for spying and were sentenced in June to 12 years in prison.

PREVIOUS:
Ex-Prez Bill Clinton’
s secret mission to North Korea AND he’s not there to have a beer with dictator Kim Jong Il.

The hubby of Sec-o-State Hilary Clinton is on a rescue mission to free captive US journos Laura Ling and Euna Lee.

Big Bill arrived in an unmarked jet in Pyongyang where he was greeted warmly by top officials and senior nuke negotiators.  A child presenting flowers to the ex-Prez made for a great photo op.

The two femme journos captured and accused of spying worked for ex-VP and global warming guru Al Gore‘s Current TV news net.

Clinton’s trip meets two of Kim Jong Il’s demands – first an official apology which Sec-o-State Hillary offered, reversing the administration’s previous stance, and then a symbolic "lose face" visit from a high ranking emissary – and that would be Bill.

And what’s higher than being ex-Prez AND hubby to Sec-o-State?

Sources confirm while Bill’s trip seemed a surprise, it was actually planned in secret  "weeks ago."

A senior U.S. official stated:  "While mission is in progress, we will have no comment. Our interest is the safe return of the journalists."

And it’s a pretty safe bet that Clinton would not have gone to North Korea unless it was certain he would be coming back with the two journos safe and sound. SUCCESS!
