The son of convicted Wall Street swindler BERNIE MADOFF hung himself on the second year anniversary of his father’s arrest.
Mark Madoff, 46, was discovered hanging from a black dog leash in the living room of his posh SoHo loft apartment yesterday.
There was no suicide note, authroties say.
Although Mark was never charged in the case that sent his father to jail he still bore the shame of a name now synomous with the biggest invesdtment fraud in American history.
Mark Madoff and his brother Andrew, who notified authorities their father confessed the day before he was arrested on Dec. 11, 2008, have claimed they were both unaware of his crimes.
But the Madoff sons have remained under investigation from authorities and were named in multiple lawsuits accusing them of culpability and of profiting from the scheme.
"Mark was an innocent victim of his father’s monstrous crime who succumbed to two years of unrelenting pressure from false accusations and innuendo," his lawyer told media.
