As if Tiger didn’t have Scandinavia in a huff already, Mel Gibson and Leo DiCaprio to go berserk – Viking style!
Nope, it’s not Mel’s take on classic Mad mag spoof Prince Violent but he’ll be directing the "King of the World" in a period actioner about Vikings.
Y’ know really old school brawling, boozing, wenching and pillaging by guys with horns. In other words, just another Saturday night.
Both Leo and Mel have confirmed the untitled project but didn’t divulge details.
According to show biz bible Variety, DiCaprio, who has long been fascinated by Viking culture (his dad ran a comic book shop, see: Foster, Hal), will star in a storyline as brutal as Gibson’s other directorial efforts — Braveheart, The Passion of the Christ and Apocalypto.
The alleged connective tissue is "king" AND Mel’s penchant for ultra-violence.
Filming is to begin Spring 2010 as next year looks to be all things Odin with the imminent release of Marvel’s The Mighty Thor about the Norse god’s travails on Earth.
