LIZ TAYLOR CANCER DRAMA

Liz Taylor has taken quick action to save her world-famous face from the ravages of skin cancer.

The glamour queen is undergoing radiation treatment — and she is determined to overcome her latest medical drama without resorting to surgery to remove the facial malignancy.

“Liz was diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma on her cheek,” a close source told The ENQUIRER.

“Ordinarily doctors remove such cancers surgically — but Liz’s face is her fortune. So her doctors recommended that they treat the malignancy with radiation to prevent scarring.

“Of course, when specialists found that the spot on her cheek was indeed cancer, Liz was shattered.

“But through the years she’s been through everything from a broken back to a brain tumor. She’s actually been pronounced dead twice.

“When the latest diagnosis finally sunk in, she told a friend, ‘Well, I guess now I’ve had everything! But you know what they say — old age ain’t for sissies!'”

Added the source: “Of course, Liz is concerned. And the radiation treatments have been making her nauseous.

“But the prognosis is good. And she’s trying to keep on with her normal routine.”

Although basal cell carcinoma can cause disfigurement, it is the least dangerous and most common form of skin cancer, according to the National Cancer Institute.

“Liz has had at least three radiation sessions at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

“And she’ll probably undergo three more. Hopefully, that will be it,” disclosed another close source.

“I’ve seen Liz waiting for her radiation treatment at Cedars and she looks absolutely wonderful.

“She waits her turn like everyone else. You’d never know she’s this big movie star. Sometimes she brings her knitting. Other times she has her little dog Sugar on her lap.

“She’s always as sweet as pie to the staff.”

The 70-year-old star is paying the price for the days years ago when she worshipped the sun, says an insider.

“But she’s nothing if not a fighter. In fact, she was out shopping in Beverly Hills the other day — right after her radiation session.

“Liz is absolutely amazing. She’s like the unsinkable Molly Brown — no matter what hardships life throws at her she somehow manages to survive.”
