Olympic sweetheart, gold medalist LINDSAY VONN and her hubby are downhill racing to D-I-V-O-R-C-E.
Vonn told AP she and her husband of four years Thomas Vonn have started divorce proceedings. Thomas also served as her chief adviser.
"This is an extremely difficult time in my personal life and I hope the media and my fans can respect my need for privacy on this matter," Lindsey said in a statement.
Thomas Vonn confirmed via email to AP he filed for divorce last Monday.
The super-skiing duo was wed Sept. 29, 2007.
Lindsey Vonn became one of THE faces of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics as she nailed a gold medal in the downhill and a bronze in the super-G, earning lasting fame.
