LINDSAY LOHAN BATTLES DEADLY RARE VIRUS

LINDSAY LOHAN hospitalized in the UK after contracting rare virus in French Polynesia.

America’s favorite hot mess contracted Chikungunya, a mosquito borne virus, over the Christmas holidays in the South  Seas.

She had been complaining via social media of feeling ill while in Bora Bora.

According to reports, the Mean Girls star was rushed to for treatment at King Edward VII's Hospital where no less a personage than the Queen is attended.

According to the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention, Chikungunya, is a virus transmitted from mosquitoes to people much like malaria and yellow fever.

Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, swelling and  a very nasty rash.  There is no vaccine nor prescription drugs to treat the diseasze once infection has set in, the CDC said.

Although the disease is potentially fatal, the World Health Organization says most patients eventually recover. It depends o the general health of the patient.

Reportedly, her joint pain may last for months.

While Lindsay’s fever has broken, her mother Dina is said to be jetting to England to be at her daughter’s side.

UPDATE: She has been released from the hospital and will be treated by a specialist.
