Like an angel from heaven, a girl’s voice called to rescuers at the scene of a car crash – and saved the life of an 18-month-old baby.

The toddler, Lily Groesbeck, survived 14 hours dangling upside down in her car seat in a frigid Utah river – and The National ENQUIRER has learned the secret behind her miracle survival was that otherworldly voice.

In an exclusive interview, an officer with the Spanish Fork Police Department said he and other first responders swear they heard a female voice pleading, “Help me! Help me out!”

Officer Tyler Beddoes told The ENQUIRER: “We all talked about it and asked, ‘Did you hear that, too?’ And we all heard it, heard it say the same thing. We certainly fought harder and tried harder because of it.”

Emergency crews tipped the car on its side and found Lily strapped into her car seat in the backseat, clinging to life.

Tragically, her mother, 25-year-old Lynn Groesbeck, was found dead in the driver’s seat.

Spanish Fork Police Lt. Cory Slaymaker said: “The vehicle was on its top, so the car seat could have been out of the water. The car was on an embankment.”

Police said the mother may have hit a cement barrier on a bridge before accidentally driving into the river.

After being rescued, Lily was hospitalized. Her family said she is breathing on her own and is expected to make a full recovery.

The Spanish River Police continue to investigate the accident.

Added Officer Beddoes: “It’s hard to grasp and figure out exactly what we heard. All I know is we heard the voice calling to help, and we did our best to help whomever it was that was calling.”
