A LIFELINE FOR GLEN CAMPBELL: MEMORIES OF ELVIS PRESLEY!

Glen

As GLEN CAMPBELL slips deeper into dementia, the beloved singer is taking comfort in the spirit of old friend ELVIS PRESLEY!

The 78-year-old “Gentle on My Mind” star is often disoriented in the extended care facility where he’s living out his final days.

“But in moments when he’s lucid, Glen’s recalling Elvis memories,” a source told The National ENQUIRER. “Sometimes, he’ll believe Elvis is in his room and they’re carrying on a conversation. Other times, he’ll start singing a few lines of favorite Elvis tunes like ‘Hound Dog,’ ‘Don’t Be Cruel’ or ‘Jailhouse Rock.’”

Added a longtime pal: “Glen and Elvis were friends since the ’50s. One of Glen’s fondest memories was that he got to play on the soundtrack for the ‘Viva Las Vegas’ movie.”

As The ENQUIRER reported, Glen briefly left the care facility to spend Christmas with his family. He was moved into the facility last year when relatives could no longer look after him.

Glen’s song “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” was recently Oscar-nominated for best original song. The tune will be performed at the Academy Awards Feb. 22 by country star Tim McGraw.
