LEWDY 'TUDE BRAND BANNED

Controverso MTV VMA host Russell Brand banned -- quits BBC radio show.

The looney Brit upstart who perplexed US auds during MTV VMA Awards was caught leaving lewd messages on a 78 year old thesp's voicemail.

The calls were made by Brand and cohort Jonathan Ross to Fawlty Towers Britcom star Andrew Sachs who played the Spanish Waiter.

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown dubbed the comments "inappropriate and unacceptable."

BBC director general Mark Thompson delivered a "personal and unreserved apology" for the "gross lapse of taste by the performers and the production team."

BBC then suspended the cockney but then Brand said he quit first.

Somewhere, President G.W. Bush, whom Brand referred to as "that retarded cowboy fellow" on the VMAs is having a larf.
