Hollywood ruined Leeza Gibbons‘ marriage!
The former “Entertainment Tonight” and “Extra” star just can’t slow down — and her hectic pace drove her architect husband Stephen Meadows to file for legal separation after 14 years of marriage, say sources.
“Leeza has always been a very driven career woman who has worked extremely hard to get where she is today,” revealed a close source.
“But it’s played havoc with her personal life.
STRIKE THREE
“She now has three failed marriages and the reason is simply Hollywood and husbands are a tough fit. There have been problems between the two for a couple years.
“I believe that’s one of the reasons why they drew up a post-nuptial agreement in January 2002.
“Then Stephen moved out last year and into another home they owned in the Hollywood Hills. But they wanted to keep up the appearance of a happy marriage because Leeza was hoping they could work things out.”
The 47-year-old mother of three has been a whirlwind of activity. She works hard for her Memory Foundation, which helps families deal with loved ones who are afflicted with Alzheimer’s.
It’s a cause that’s important to her because her own mom has the disease.
BUSY LIFE
On top of that, the dazzling dynamo has her own syndicated radio show and a line of makeup. She is spokeswoman for a vitamin company, appears on the Home Shopping Network, and does public speaking and TV guest spots.
She’s become a one-woman cottage industry, and last summer Stephen finally decided to start shopping for his own house. On February 7, he filed for legal separation, revealed an insider, “because being Mr. Leeza Gibbons is a tough act.”
