Did screen legend LAUREN BACALL like her boozy brawling men like Bogie and Sinatra to make fools of themselves? And yet…

The love story of Bogie and Bacall goes on!

Hollywood screen legend Lauren Bacall went to her death waiting to be reunited with the great love of her life – first husband and frequent movie co-star Humphrey Bogart.

“They were soul mates,” a friend said after the 89-year-old actress died peacefully at her New York City home Aug. 12 following a stroke.

“Bogie and Bacall will finally be together again!”

The former model was just 19 when she was cast opposite Bogart in 1944’s “To Have and Have Not.” They wed a year later and went on to re-team in “The Big Sleep,” “Dark Passage” and “Key Largo.”

Although Bogart was 25 years her senior, the statuesque beauty was madly in love, and his cancer death in 1957 destroyed her.

“Betty, as she was called, would have grown old with Bogie if she could have,” said her pal.

“His esophageal cancer conspired against that from ever happening. Even so, they had 12 glorious years together and she has mourned him in her heart ever since.”

After Bogie’s passing, Bacall took up with Frank Sinatra, and after a whirlwind courtship they became engaged – but “Ol’ Blue Eyes” suddenly dumped her.

For two decades, Sinatra refused to speak to her about it, a reaction she considered “rude.”

Lauren moved to New York in 1958, and in 1961 tied the knot with actor Jason Robards, but according to her autobiography, she divorced him in 1969 mainly because of his addiction to booze.

The husky-voiced screen siren leaves behind the two children she had with Bogie – Stephen Humphrey Bogart, 65, a news producer, documentary filmmaker and author, and daughter Leslie Bogart, 62, a yoga instructor. Her lone child with Jason, Sam Robards, 52, is an actor.

Concluded her pal: “Think Brad and Angelina and think 100 times bigger – THAT was Bogie and Bacall.”
