LATEST: NATASHA BRAIN DEAD

Family and friends say goodbye to brain dead Natasha Richardson in a New York City hospital after tragic ski accident, multiple sources said.

The Parent Trap actress suffered a serious head injury in a skiing accident in Quebec.

Richardson was taken from a Montreal hospital — where her husband, Liam Neeson, has flown to be by her side — to a New York City hospital.

According to the ski resort, Richardson fell while taking a private ski lesson on beginners’ run. "She was accompanied by an experienced ski instructor who immediately called the ski patrol," a statement from the resort says.

Richardson felt fine after her accident and refused medical assistance, opting instead to return to her hotel room, resort reps say. She later had a headache and 911 was called.

She went to a nearby hospital and was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of Sacré Coeur Hospital.

Upon arriving at an undisclosed hospital in NYC, she was removed from life support surrounded by her husband, Liam, and family members, according to reports.

The Neeson/Richardson clan is expected to make an official statement tomorrow.

Richardson, the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and mother of two sons, won Tony Award in 1998 for Cabaret and has appeared in movies such as Nell, Maid in Manhattan and Gothic.
