One of the last persons to see tragic beauty ANNA NICOLE SMITH alive - her bodyguard - will testify in the drug conspiracy trial of two doctors and Smith's lawyer-boyfriend.

Bodyguard Maurice Brighthaupt was listed as a prosecution witness slated to take the stand today.

He valiantly tried to revive the comatose Playboy centerfold and reality TV starlet who died from a drug overdose in 2007. Reportedly, his accounts of what happened that day varied.

The trial opened as prosecution and three defense attorneys made passionate opening statements to the jury whether the codefendants conspired to enable Smith with prescription drugs to feed her habit.

The accused, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich and Howard K. Stern have all plead not guilty to over prescribing drugs.

They are not charged with causing the death of the blonde beauty who died from an accidental prescription drug overdose at age 39 in a Hollywood, Florida hotel in 2007.
