LAST SAD DAYS OF DICK CLARK

description

Dick Clark has just months to live.

The American Bandstand legend – who turns 80 on Nov. 30 – has recently become thin and frail, and he is now confined to a wheelchair. His friends fear he will not survive another year.

"It’s so sad," a close friend told The ENQUIRER.

"In the last few months, he’s gotten so thin that I honestly don’t know if he’s going to see next summer. The poor soul is just wasting away."

The TV icon – known as "America’s oldest teenager" – has never fully recovered from two nearly fatal strokes in 2004.  He’s partially paralyzed, has trouble speaking and relies on his wife Kari to help with even the simplest of tasks, sources say.

"The poor guy sits in a chair all day long with a sad, faraway look in his eyes. The worst part is that his mind is sharp, but his body is weakening at a rapid pace."

The beloved star’s health is further compromised because he suffers from type 2 diabetes that hampered his recovery from the strokes and also put him at increased risk for suffering another stroke.

Another family friend added: "I think Dick has less than a year to live, maybe only a few months. He recently told me, ‘It’s been a great run, but I’m at the end.’"
